Emergency Contraception

Emergency Contraception

⚠️ Emergency Hormonal Contraception (EHC) at Prescriptions Pharmacy

🔐 Confidential, Rapid Access to Emergency Contraception

At Prescriptions Pharmacy, we provide the National Emergency Hormonal Contraception (EHC) Service, offering timely and confidential access to the morning‑after pill when needed.

🚨 Emergency contraception may help prevent pregnancy following unprotected sex, contraceptive failure (such as a condom breaking), or missed doses of regular contraception.

You can attend the pharmacy directly for a same‑day private consultation — no GP appointment or referral required.

💊 What Is Emergency Hormonal Contraception?

Emergency hormonal contraception is a short‑term method used after unprotected sex to reduce the likelihood of pregnancy.

💊 Levonorgestrel — typically effective if taken within 72 hours (3 days)

💊 Ulipristal acetate — may be effective up to 120 hours (5 days)

⏱️ Treatment is most effective when taken as soon as possible.
