💉 Hepatitis A Vaccination in Prescot

Private Hepatitis A Travel Vaccine at Prescriptions Pharmacy

🌍 Prescriptions Pharmacy provides private Hepatitis A vaccination in Prescot for travellers visiting countries where hepatitis A may be more common.

Hepatitis A is linked to contaminated food, unsafe water and poor sanitation. Your pharmacist will consider your destination, accommodation, activities and previous vaccination history before advising whether this vaccine is suitable for your trip.

🧭 What Is Hepatitis A?

Hepatitis A is a viral liver infection. Travellers may be exposed in areas where sanitation or food and water hygiene standards are less reliable.

🤒 Symptoms can include fever, tiredness and feeling generally unwell

🤢 Some people may experience nausea, abdominal discomfort or loss of appetite

🟡 Hepatitis A can sometimes cause jaundice, where the skin or eyes appear yellow

🧼 Good hygiene, safe food choices and vaccination can help reduce your risk

📌 Travel risk varies by country and itinerary, so your pharmacist will review your travel plans before advising whether vaccination is recommended.

✈️ Who May Need a Hepatitis A Vaccine?

Hepatitis A vaccination may be recommended for people travelling to destinations where hepatitis A is more common, especially where food and water hygiene may be less predictable.

🌍 Travellers visiting higher-risk destinations

🎒 Backpackers and long-stay travellers

🏕️ Travellers staying in rural areas or basic accommodation

🍴 People likely to eat outside major hotels or tourist resorts

👨‍👩‍👧 People visiting friends and relatives abroad

🧳 Business travellers, students and gap year travellers depending on destination risk

Your pharmacist will review your itinerary and advise whether Hepatitis A vaccination is recommended for your trip.

📅 Hepatitis A Vaccine Schedule

Hepatitis A vaccination is usually given as a course of injections to help provide longer-term protection.

💉 First dose: ideally at least 2 weeks before travel

🔁 A booster dose may be recommended 6–12 months later depending on the vaccine used

🛡️ A completed course can provide long-lasting protection for many years

📌 Vaccine schedules may vary depending on the brand supplied and your individual travel requirements

Travelling soon? Even if your trip is close, last-minute vaccination may still provide useful protection before departure.

🍽️ Hepatitis A, Food and Water Safety

Vaccination helps reduce the risk of hepatitis A, but travellers should still take care with food, drink and hygiene while abroad.

💧 Drink bottled, boiled or treated water where advised

🧊 Avoid ice if you are unsure whether it was made with safe water

🍴 Choose food that is freshly cooked and served piping hot

🍎 Peel fruit yourself where possible

🧼 Wash hands regularly or use alcohol hand gel where handwashing is not available
