๐ฉบ Impetigo Treatment in Prescot
At Prescriptions Pharmacy, we provide NHS Pharmacy First assessment and treatment for impetigo, a common bacterial skin infection.
๐งซ Impetigo is highly contagious and most often affects children, although adults can also be affected. It typically appears around the nose and mouth but can occur anywhere on the body.
๐ฅ Through the NHS Pharmacy First service, eligible patients can be assessed and treated by a pharmacist without needing to see a GP.
๐ฅ Who Is Eligible?
This service may be suitable if:
โ The patient is aged 1 year or over
โ The infection is localised and mild to moderate
โ There are no signs of systemic illness
โ The condition is not recurrent or widespread
๐ฉบ A private consultation will confirm whether treatment can be safely provided under Pharmacy First.
๐ Recognising Impetigo
Impetigo often presents with:
๐ด Red sores or blisters that break easily
๐ฏ Golden or honeyโcoloured crusting
